IELTS Writing Task 2 dạng Agree or Disagree yêu cầu thí sinh đưa ra quan điểm đồng ý hay không đồng ý, hoặc đồng tình một phần về một vấn đề xã hội nào đó, đồng thời phải đưa ra được các dẫn chứng, ví dụ để giải thích cho quan điểm của mình.

1.2. Cấu trúc của dạng Agree or Disagree trong IELTS Writing Task 2

Cũng như những dạng bài khác, dạng đồng ý hay không đồng ý tuân theo một cấu trúc đơn giản, bao gồm bốn đoạn cơ bản. Các đoạn văn này cần được liên kết một cách logic và thể hiện khả năng trình bày câu trả lời có tổ chức tốt của bạn.

• Giới thiệu: Giới thiệu lại vấn đề, sử dụng kỹ năng paraphrase lại đề bài, khẳng định mình đồng ý hay không đồng ý.  
• Thân bài 1 và 2: Đưa ra các luận điểm cho ý kiến của bản thân, bổ sung các luận cứ, ví dụ chứng minh. Mỗi đoạn của phần thân bài sẽ bao gồm:
• Luận điểm (1 câu).
• Luận cứ (1-2 câu).
• Ví dụ chứng minh (1 câu).

Bước 1: Trước khi viết

• Đọc kỹ đề bài: Đọc kỹ lại một lần nữa đề bài và xác định xem bạn đồng ý hay không đồng ý với nhận định đó. Gạch chân những điểm chính và yêu cầu để giải quyết chúng một cách logic trong đoạn 1 và 2 của bạn.

Bước 2: Trong khi viết

A. Mở bài (Introduction)

Bắt đầu với phần giới thiệu ngắn gọn cung cấp ngữ cảnh của đề bài và nêu rõ quan điểm của bạn (dù bạn đồng ý hay không đồng ý). Đảm bảo diễn giải câu nói đã cho và đưa ra luận điểm rõ ràng về lập trường của bạn.Bạn nên thể hiện kỹ năng paraphrase (diễn giải theo cách khác) lại đề bài để “đầu xuôi đuôi lọt” ở phần mở bài.

B. Thân bài (Main body)

• Thân bài 1 (Main body paragraph 1)

Trong đoạn này, trình bày luận điểm đầu tiên của bạn. Xây dựng luận điểm này với các ví dụ, số liệu thống kê hoặc kinh nghiệm cá nhân có liên quan. Điều quan trọng là cung cấp bằng chứng cụ thể để củng cố lập luận của bạn và chứng minh khả năng phát triển ý tưởng của bạn một cách hiệu quả.

 

Luận điểm 1	Excessive usage leads to addiction and social isolation
Luận cứ	Children may become obsessed with playing and find it difficult to stop. Besides, they may withdraw from social activities and spend all their time playing video games instead.
Ví dụ	According to a study published in the journal Pediatrics, children who spend more than two hours a day playing video games are more likely to have problems with attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, which are symptoms of addiction and can lead to social isolation.

• Thân bài 2 (Main body paragraph 2)

Tương tự như đoạn trước, phần này sẽ trình bày luận điểm thứ hai hỗ trợ cho quan điểm của bạn. Cung cấp bằng chứng và ví dụ để chứng minh quan điểm của bạn. Hãy nhớ duy trì sự mạch lạc và liên kết giữa các đoạn văn.

 

Luận điểm 2	Violence and aggression in some games can lead to behavioral issues
Luận cứ	The impact of violent video games on brain development and psychology, and how exposure to violent content can desensitize children to violence and make them more likely to engage in aggressive behavior.
Ví dụ	For instance, a study found that children who played violent video games were more likely to engage in physical fights at school.

C. Kết luận (Conclusion)

Trong đoạn cuối cùng này, hãy trình bày lại ý kiến của bạn và tóm tắt các điểm chính từ các đoạn thân bài. 

“In conclusion, while there are concerns about the potential negative effects of video games on children, they can also have positive benefits. Parents should monitor their children's screen time and ensure a balance of activities to minimize negative impacts while still allowing their children to enjoy the benefits of video games.”

 

Bước 3: Sau khi viết

Dành thời gian để xem lại bài luận của bạn về lỗi ngữ pháp, chính tả và dấu câu. Ngoài ra, hãy kiểm tra xem bài luận của bạn có tuân thủ số lượng từ được yêu cầu là tối thiểu 250 từ hay không.

 

Lưu ý khi làm dạng Agree or Disagree trong IELTS Writing Task 2

Firstly, it can be viewed as a moral duty to reciprocate the care provided by parents or grandparents during their youth. Secondly, elderly family members may face financial constraints, and younger family members can offer crucial financial aid. Thirdly, older family members may require medical attention or specialized care, which younger family members are well-positioned to provide.

 

Conversely, there are several reasons against making younger family members legally responsible for supporting their elders. Firstly, this mandate might impose an undue burden on younger family members who lack the financial means or time to fulfill this obligation. In conclusion, although some advocate for younger family members to be legally responsible for supporting their elders, I hold a different perspective. While caring for one's elders is crucial, it should not be enforced through legislation. Rather, it should be seen as a voluntary moral obligation and a personal decision.

Some argue that increasing the price of fattening foods could be a solution to address this issue. In this essay, I will share my perspective on whether such a measure can effectively tackle obesity.

 

On one hand, there are several compelling reasons to support the idea of raising the price of fattening foods as a means to combat obesity. Firstly, it may dissuade individuals from consuming unhealthy and calorie-dense foods. With increased prices, people might be inclined to opt for healthier, low-calorie alternatives. Secondly, such a measure can generate revenue that can be channeled toward promoting healthier eating habits and physical activities. Instead, it should be accompanied by a comprehensive approach that encompasses education and awareness campaigns, subsidies for healthy foods, and the promotion of physical activities.

 

In conclusion, although some argue that increasing the price of fattening foods can resolve the issue of obesity, I believe that it is a partial solution. Combating obesity requires a multifaceted approach that encompasses various measures to achieve long-term and impactful results.
